Devrian Etienne and Ruhi Sree Pandu Rangan recently participated in the Ozone Roadshow held at I.C.C.S on Thursday, 19 September 2024. The theme of the roadshow was ‘ Advancing Climate Change’. They presented their project, ‘SeyGreen,’ which won first place in the ‘Open Innovation Challenge to develop Innovative Solutions for Climate Change’ launched in July 2022.
They created an app called SeyGreen, designed to track and monitor the usage of electricity, water, and food waste for households and businesses. The platform helps users understand their carbon footprint, manage resource consumption efficiently and aids them to realise and reduce their contributions to climate change . Devrian and Ruhi presented their project to the Principal Secretary for Climate Change and Energy, Mr. Tony Imaduwa, and the Minister for Agriculture, Climate Change, and Energy, Mr. Flavien Joubert. They had engaging discussions on how to further develop their project into a practical solution.
Later on during the day, a group of primary and secondary students had the chance to visit the exhibition and interact with the different organisations. The young students were well impressed by the work being done by organisations like SIF and the Meteorological office to name just a couple.
